Hilde Soliani - Fraaagola Saalaaata Eau de Parfum

Fraaagola Saalaaata (Strawberry Salt) was a delightful surprise for me.  The strawberry was bright and happy and the salt - well, I just do not get salt from this.  When first spritzed on I can understand the doll reference but that dissipates quickly and leaves behind a perfect blending of the strawberry with something else that I cannot put my finger on.  My husband would not label this as a strawberry scent once it dried down on me.  He said it was very nice though. He went on to tell me, once again, that if he cannot discern the exact notes of the perfume - it means that it has a great blend.  It didn't matter WHAT the notes were - just that it smelled very nice.  Not floral and not too sweet.  I LOVE, LOVE candy scents but I do not like musk (as in Pink Sugar dry down).  This is spun sugar (cotton candy) in a grown up way with no musk.  I think of cotton candy as a strawberry flavor/scent.  This is an expensive cotton candy that is not for children.  This perfume is for us grown ups but makes me feel youthful and happy.  I LOVE this perfume and I am sad that it costs $200 a bottle.  If I ran out of this perfume and $200.00 fell from the sky, I would order another bottle in a heartbeat!  I love several of Hilde Soliani's scents.  She is a keeper!

Fraaagola Saalaaata
Eau de Parfum

by Hilde Soliani

Fraaagola Saalaaata, a surprising mix of strawberries and... salt, is a playful, unexpectedly subversive scent, a composition with two sides, sweet and forceful. Elegant and humorous, the perfume is like no other that we know. Try as we might we can’t come up with anything like its unique mixture of pulpy, juicy, fruity innocence and strangely saline, at times almost earthy sensuality. Simple and enigmatic, sweet and fresh, summery and deep…This is haute cuisine, or rather haute parfumerie at its absolute best!

  1. cara, I totally agree with your husband when he says, if you can't detect notes it means it's a masterful blend.
